Honouring the Royal Air Force on its 107th anniversary

Celebrating 107 years of the RAF! Since 1918, the Royal Air Force it has shaped British military history and global air power.

Today, we’re celebrating 107 years of the Royal Air Force, formed on April 1st, 1918. From the early days of the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service, the RAF grew to become the world’s largest air force at the time. Since then, the RAF has been an integral part of British military history and global air power.

At SQEP, we’re incredibly proud of our roots and connection to the RAF. Our Commercial Director, Jonny Priest DFC shares that over 70% of our team are RAF veterans. We’re also honoured to be a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award holder, recognising us as one of the largest veteran employers in the sector. We stand strong in our commitment to the values and heritage of the RAF, which continues to shape the work we do every day.

As Jonny says:

“At SQEP, our affiliation with the Royal Air Force could not be stronger. We have had the pleasure of working on platforms from past to present day—including heritage aircraft such as the Spitfire and Hurricane, moving through to Typhoon and Hawk, to name but a few.”

The bond we share with the RAF is one that strengthens us all, and we look forward to carrying this legacy forward.
