As both sponsors and supporters of RAF Rugby Union, SQEP Ltd recently had the pleasure of attending this year’s Inter-Service fixtures across three venues.
The season opened at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens for RAF v Royal Navy, followed by Allianz Stadium, Twickenham for Army v Royal Navy, where the RAF Rugby Union Referees Society (Chair: Fraser Gray) officiated alongside RFU officials.
The fixtures concluded at Kingsholm Stadium in Gloucester for RAF v British Army, where @Paul Mayo and Sarah joined more than 2,500 RAF supporters, further strengthening SQEP’s presence across the season.
While results did not fall the RAF’s way across every game, what stood out throughout the fixtures was the camaraderie, commitment and passion shown across the RAFRU community. From players and coaches to officials and supporters, every team demonstrated the teamwork, discipline and respect that sit at the heart of Inter-Service rugby.
For SQEP, supporting RAFRU is not about results. It is about backing a community that reflects values many of our own team know well through service experience and continue to carry into civilian life and the workplace today.
John Barlow, SQEP’s representative for RAFRU sponsorship, reflected: “What stood out most during these fixtures was the level of commitment and sense of camaraderie shown throughout the season, not just from the players, but from the staff, officials and supporters. It was incredible to see. Both players and officials gave their all and we are proud to continue supporting an organisation that brings people together in this way.”
As the main season draws to a close and attention turns to the RAF Spitfires 7s programme, we look forward to continuing our support into the next stage of the season
