THE SQEP business was founded on expertise in military airworthiness, and our expertise and depth of experience in the field remains in high demand. That’s why this week we welcome John Elkin to further bolster the team as a Senior Airworthiness Consultant.
John has a career in aviation spanning some 42 years – 35 in defence with the Royal Air Force, Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S), Organisation of Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR) and Air Tanker Services. Most recently, he has worked with Baines Simmons as Head of Civil Continuing Airworthiness Portfolio.
John’s programme experience has delivered at platform and enterprise level, including C130J entry into service, A400M reliability and maintainability, Voyager MilCAM, and the review, improvement and development of Royal Air Force engineering standards.
He has worked with major operators and defence forces around the globe, assisting them to introduce, develop, improve and sustain effective Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) and maintenance performance under a variety of regulatory frameworks – principally EASE, FAA, UK CAA, UK MRP & EMAR.
John has direct experience with the following platforms:
– Jaguar
– Nimrod

“Joining SQEP feels like a home coming and I feel privileged to be working alongside a group of inspiring and motivating people; some familiar faces and plenty of new ones too,” John said. “I’m always seeking ways to make it easier to manage airworthiness better and I’m excited to be able to add my experience and knowledge to support the requirements and meet the challenges of our business and importantly our clients.”
So welcome to the growing SQEP family of suitably qualified experienced personnel, John! We’re very glad to have you. If you’d like to discuss your programme requirements, please get in touch.
