Modern defence capability increasingly depends on how well different systems, technologies and organisations work together. On its own, a capable component does not necessarily create a capable force.

That is one of the questions at the heart of DVD2026. The event brings defence, industry and users of land equipment together around this year’s theme, Connected for Combat, with a focus on how capability is developed, integrated and delivered.

For SQEP, that conversation matters because decisions about engineering, assurance, support and operational use cannot be considered in isolation. A change in one area can introduce consequences elsewhere, affecting how capability is delivered, assured and ultimately used.

We look forward to joining colleagues from across the defence community at DVD2026. Mike Zachariah and Gary McIntosh will be attending on behalf of SQEP and look forward to contributing to the conversations around how those connections can be understood and managed across the life of a programme.
