In support of an OEM customer, SQEP’s Environmental Team has played a pivotal role in delivering environmental assurance for the Apache programme. This engagement highlights SQEP’s ability to respond to evolving client requirements, offer expert guidance under complex conditions, and maintain the highest standards of environmental compliance within the defence sector.
Context
The OEM customer faced a pressing need for environmental support on the Apache programme, particularly in meeting the Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) rigorous environmental standards. With no permanent in-house environmental team and limited safety support, the customer required a reliable partner capable of providing both technical expertise and strategic oversight.
Our Approach
SQEP responded by deploying a team of environmental specialists to deliver targeted support across several critical areas. The team led the development and refinement of environmental artefacts in line with MOD regulations, ensuring both compliance and audit readiness. Acting as the customer’s environmental interface with the MOD, SQEP provided authoritative representation during Environmental Working Groups (EWGs), helping to bridge communication gaps and align expectations.
Delivery
SQEP adopted an agile delivery model that enabled high-impact results within a three-month timeframe. This flexible and responsive approach proved effective in meeting the customer’s evolving needs. Following the success of the initial engagement, the contract was extended for an additional three months, reinforcing the trust and value established with the OEM customer. A unified team approach enabled the integration of safety and environmental delivery, streamlining support and enhancing contract efficiency. Weekly activity planning and transparent reporting further contributed to risk mitigation and strengthened client relationships.
Outcome
As a result of this engagement, SQEP is now recognised as the primary and only viable option for environmental support on the Apache programme. The team’s ability to pivot from safety to environmental support demonstrated its versatility and commitment to client success. With a proven track record on Apache, SQEP is well-positioned to support broader environmental and safety requirements across the defence sector.
