Since founding SQEP in 2014, Paul Mayo has helped build the business around operational expertise, sound judgement and a deep understanding of safety-critical environments.
Over the years, SQEP has grown from a specialist consultancy into a business providing scalable, technical engineering support across a wide range of complex programmes within the defence and aerospace sectors.
As SQEP enters its next stage of development, Paul now takes on the role of Chief Executive Officer, with a greater focus on the company’s future direction, industry relationships and new opportunities.
Paul explains what the move means for SQEP’s future:
“As SQEP continues to grow and evolve, I will move from Managing Director to Chief Executive Officer, reflecting an increasing focus on the strategic direction and future shape of the business.
As CEO, I will focus on SQEP’s longer-term growth, strategic business development, and strengthening relationships with senior stakeholders across our customers, partners and wider markets. The move supports the continued development of SQEP’s leadership structure, ensuring the business remains focused on delivery today while actively shaping the opportunities, partnerships and direction that will define its future.
As SQEP develops, I want us to be deliberate about where we commit our expertise. My experience in defence and in building this business has taught me the importance of understanding what a programme needs, what the people delivering it are working towards and where specialist support can make a meaningful difference.”
For SQEP, the focus now is on building for the next stage while preserving the principles that have guided the company since its foundation.
