In the Royal Air Force community, service does not simply end when a career changes. The connection remains. Built on shared experience, trust and a continued sense of looking out for one another that carries on long after active service.

At SQEP Ltd, that link runs deep. With a team shaped by military experience, including a significant number of RAF veterans, there is a shared understanding that community is not something you leave behind. It is something you remain part of.

A simple approach with a significant purpose

The RAFA Connections for Life programme is designed to ensure that veterans across the RAF community are not left isolated or disconnected. Through proactive outreach, trained volunteers contact veterans directly to check in, reopen conversations and identify where additional welfare support may be needed. It focuses on reaching people who may not actively ask for help, but who benefit from knowing someone is there.

Across the wider campaign:
• 666 calls made
• 351 conversations held
• 40 individuals identified for further welfare support

Members of SQEP, including Will Eckersley, alongside Ash Cudlipp, Paul Kent, Debbie Smith, Al Jackson and Matthew Treviss, recently supported the campaign.

Will reflected: “After 22 years serving in the Royal Air Force, that connection I have to the RAF network creates an immediate bond with others who have served.

Taking part in the outreach campaign was a meaningful opportunity to give something. Speaking directly with veterans and hearing their experiences had a real impact on everyone involved.

Team SQEP made 31 calls. A small contribution within a much wider effort, but one that reflects something we all believe in.”

At SQEP, trust, experience and accountability are inherited from service. They shape how people show up for one another and how our team approaches responsibility beyond the uniform.
